Frequently Asked Questions

ADO Bus from AIFA Airport to Mexico City Airport

This airport-to-airport service helps you avoid arranging an expensive private transfer, negotiating with a taxi or travelling through central Mexico City with your luggage.

Bear in mind that AIFA and AICM are two completely different airports.

The scheduled bus journey usually takes approximately one hour, although traffic and operating conditions can affect the arrival time.

You will depart from AIFA Airport and arrive to AICM Terminal 1.

ADO Bus Fleet

The easiest way to transfer from AIFA to AICM

AIFA and AICM are two different airports. Felipe Ángeles International Airport appears as AIFA or NLU, while Mexico City International Airport appears as AICM or MEX. If you land at AIFA and your next flight departs from AICM, you must travel across the Mexico City metropolitan area rather than simply changing terminals.

ADO offers a direct bus from the AIFA Bus Terminal to AICM Terminal 1, allowing you to transfer between the airports without changing buses in downtown Mexico City or arranging a private vehicle. This is particularly convenient for passengers traveling alone, carrying checked luggage or wanting to reserve their airport transfer before arriving.

After collecting your bags at AIFA, follow the signs for Terminal de Autobuses. The bus terminal is located on Level 1 Arrivals, beside the main passenger terminal and inside the airport’s ground-transport complex.

The bus arrives at the ground-transport area of AICM Terminal 1, located in the international section between Gates 7 and 8, with access through the first level near Room F. The area includes ticket counters, a waiting room, toilets and food services.

If your onward flight departs from AICM Terminal 2, you will need to transfer after arriving at Terminal 1. Passengers with a valid boarding pass can use the free AirTrain, which operates daily from 5:00 am to 11:00 pm. Its Terminal 1 entrance is between Gates 5 and 6.

Large suitcases can travel in the luggage compartment underneath the ADO coach. Keep your passport, boarding passes, medication, money and electronics with you during the journey. Remember that checked baggage does not normally transfer automatically between separate flights at AIFA and AICM. You may need to collect it at AIFA and check it in again at AICM.

Do not plan a tight airport connection. Your total transfer time must include baggage collection, customs when applicable, walking to the AIFA bus terminal, waiting for the bus, road traffic, airline check-in, security and a possible transfer from AICM Terminal 1 to Terminal 2.

Booking online in advance lets you compare live departure times, confirm the current fare and reserve a seat before traveling. Choose a service with a generous buffer after your flight arrives, especially when traveling on separate airline tickets.

Check ADO buses from AIFA to AICM and select the departure that gives you enough time to complete your airport transfer.
