Where is Playa del Carmen station?
The Tren Maya station for Playa del Carmen is on the outskirts of the city, away from the centre. Sources put it 6 to 9 km from Quinta Avenida, so plan on a bus or taxi ride rather than a walk.
Trains run north to Cancún Aeropuerto and south to Tulum and Tulum Aeropuerto, 5 times a day in each direction. Service between Cancún and Playa del Carmen restarted on August 15, 2026, after several months of works.
Getting to and from the station
- Tren Maya Conecta: Tren Maya’s own connecting bus, running since August 15, 2026, costs MXN 55 and links the station with the centre, Playacar and the hotel area.
- Taxi or ride-hailing app: the simplest option with luggage.
ADO buses do not stop at the train station. They use the ADO terminal on Av. Juárez, next to Quinta Avenida, and the Alterna terminal at 20th Avenue and Calle 12 Norte.
Train times and fares come from the official Tren Maya booking site, checked on November 1, 2026 for travel in November and December 2026, and show the standard-class (Turista) fare for foreign visitors. ADO times and fares come from the ADO booking flow for Wednesday, December 2, 2026. Both change: check the live times before you travel.
