Where is Mérida-Teya station?

Mérida-Teya is the Tren Maya station for Mérida. It is in Teya, in the municipality of Kanasín, on the eastern edge of the metropolitan area, about 14 km from the Plaza Grande. There is no Tren Maya station in central Mérida.

From Teya, trains run to Cancún Aeropuerto (6 a day, 3h 28min), stopping at Izamal, Chichén Itzá and Valladolid; to San Francisco de Campeche (3 a day); and to Palenque (2 a day).

Getting between Teya station and central Mérida

  • Tren Maya Conecta: Tren Maya’s own connecting bus, running since September 15, 2026, costs MXN 40. It stops at the Plaza Grande, Parque de Santiago, Parque Santa Ana and Paseo de Montejo, and its departures are timed with the trains.
  • Ie-Tram route R901: the city’s electric bus line runs between Paseo 60, La Plancha and Teya station for MXN 45, paid with a Va y Ven card or a bank card.
  • Taxi or ride-hailing app: the quickest door-to-door option, especially with luggage or late at night.

ADO buses do not stop at Teya station. If you are travelling on by bus, go into the city first: ADO’s main terminal for Cancún, Valladolid and Campeche is the TAME terminal on Calle 69.

Train times and fares come from the official Tren Maya booking site, checked on November 1, 2026 for travel in November and December 2026, and show the standard-class (Turista) fare for foreign visitors. ADO times and fares come from the ADO booking flow for Wednesday, December 2, 2026. Both change: check the live times before you travel.
