The journey from Chiquilá to Cancún

From the ferry port at Chiquilá the bus heads south through quiet farming country and jungle to Kantunilkín, a small Maya town and municipal seat, then joins Highway 180 and runs east toward Cancún. Mobile signal can be patchy on the rural stretch, and the scenery is ranches, villages and low forest rather than coast.

Arriving in Cancún

After the barefoot, car-free calm of Holbox, most travellers come back to Cancún to catch a flight or continue down the Riviera Maya.
