ADO Airport Transfers from Cancun Aiport

Cancún International Airport (CUN) has four terminals, but ADO operates only from Terminals 2, 3, and 4. Each of these has an ADO customer service module. We strongly advise to book online to avoid waiting times and get your desired seats during high season. The boarding platform are just outside of the Terminal.

From Terminal 2, exit the building and walk to the right along the sidewalk in front of the terminal. Follow it to the end, where you'll reach the bus platforms.

From Terminal 3, exit the building and walk straight ahead. Within about a minute you'll see the ADO platforms and the red buses on your right.

From Terminal 4, take the exit on your left down the covered walkway (the exit straight ahead is for friends and family), which leads to the bus platforms.

Terminal 1 does not have ADO service. Before booking, check which terminal your flight arrives at, and remember that ADO buses serve the terminals in sequence, so your bus may stop at the other terminals before or after yours. Leave a little extra time to find the platform and buy your ticket, especially early in the morning or after 6:00 pm, when the outdoor ticket sellers may not be working and you'll need to buy inside.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much is the ADO bus from Cancún Airport to Tulum?

One-way tickets from Cancún Airport (Terminal 2, Terminal 3, or Terminal 4) to the Tulum ADO Bus Terminal are usually around MXN 475 (around ~$27 at the average July 2026 conversion, always check live prices as they can change!).

Prices are approximate and subject to change depending on the travel date, departure time, availability, fare conditions, and exchange rate. Always check the live fare before booking.

How long is the bus from Cancún Airport to Tulum?

The ADO bus from Cancún Airport to Tulum usually takes around 2 hours 45 minutes to 3 hours 5 minutes.

Travel time depends in part on which terminal you board at, since the bus calls at the airport terminals in sequence before heading to Tulum. Boarding at a later terminal in the sequence means a slightly shorter total trip. It is also subject to change because of traffic, road works, weather, or operational changes. If you are arriving by plane, leave enough time for immigration, baggage claim, and walking to the bus departure area before your scheduled bus.

What time do buses from Cancún Airport to Tulum leave?

ADO offers several daily departures from Cancún Airport to Tulum, running from the morning until late in the evening, with buses roughly every 1 to 2 hours for much of the day.

On a typical day, first-terminal departures include times around 11:40, 13:00, 14:20, 15:40, 17:40, and 20:00, with earlier morning departures also operating on many dates.

These are the first-terminal departure times; add a few minutes for each additional terminal the bus calls at. Schedules are subject to change and may vary by date. Some dates may show fewer departures, different times, or different availability. Always search your exact travel date before planning around a specific bus time.

Which terminal does the bus leave from at Cancún Airport?

This route leaves from Cancún International Airport Terminal 2, Terminal 3, or Terminal 4.

The bus calls at the terminals in sequence — Terminal 3 first, then Terminal 4, then Terminal 2 — so a single departure can be boarded at more than one terminal, each about 10 minutes apart. Terminal 1 does not have ADO service.

Always check your ticket before travel. Your airport, terminal, departure point, and bus time should match what appears in the booking flow.

Where does the bus arrive in Tulum?

The bus arrives at the Tulum ADO Bus Terminal on Avenida Tulum, in the centre of Tulum town (Tulum Pueblo).

The stop is right in front of the terminal on Avenida Tulum, with plenty of restaurants, shops, and services nearby. From here, colectivos (shared vans) and taxis run to the beach hotel zone (Zona Hotelera) and to the Tulum archaeological site, both a short ride away. Check the arrival station shown in the booking flow before booking.

A safer option is to leave a buffer between your flight arrival and your bus departure.

What if my flight is delayed?

You can ask at the ADO desk in the terminals whether your ticket allows a change to the next bus departure.

Changes, cancellations, and open-ticket options are subject to ticket type, route, availability, and ADO conditions.
